This book got my attention from the first chapter. An incredible read with a mixture of romance and science fiction. It is an intense read that holds your interest and keeps you reading, not wanting to put the book down until you have come to the last chapter. Thanks Dr. Fennell, I can’t wait to see the movie.

I really loved this book. It’s an intriguing story that draws you in immediately. I couldn’t put it down. I was instantly drawn in by the story of Dr. Rolanda Barnes and the issues she created for herself. I don’t want to give too much away, but the surprise ending truly left me aghast. This book will leave you thinking about the reality of AI and the impact technology as a whole has on our lives. The author takes readers on a thrilling roller coaster ride. Excellent read for lovers of Sci-Fi, Romance, and Psychological Thrillers!
The author’s medical background must have played a role in the subject material for his debut novel. I enjoyed the thought processes behind the strong female protagonist. There are a myriad of moral dilemmas presented by The AI affair. When Dr. Rolanda Barnes lost hope of ever finding a suitable companion, she diverted resources to creating a made-to-order lover. Rather than waiting for God to provide, instead she played God. Dr. Barnes, Rolanda and her jealous friend illustrated the inevitable love triangle faced by many: God and His desires vs. our own. I admire the author’s ambition to turn this novel into a workbook for women seeking the perfect mate, but I questioned the choice to limit those lessons to African American women. I would highly recommend this to science-fiction fans, especially because of the timely discussion regarding the wisdom of incorporating artificial intelligence into our lives.
